At e-Motor MTB, we live and breathe mountain biking. Based in Whistler, BC, we’ve spent the last 25 years immersed in the sport—watching it evolve, riding its peaks and progressions, and now stepping into the future with electric mountain bikes.
We’ve been following CYC Motor Ltd. since the launch of their very first Gen 1 drive system. Over the years, we’ve seen them grow from a niche innovator to a global leader in e-bike technology. Now, as proud owners and riders of their Gen 4 systems, we truly believe CYC is ready for the mass market—and that belief is why we’re getting behind the launch of the Photon V2: the most advanced, compact, powerful, upgradeable, and fully serviceable mid-drive e-bike solution in the world.
Our mission is to build a strong direct sales and dealer network across British Columbia and Alberta, giving riders direct access to this groundbreaking technology, backed by real riding experience and local support. Whether you’re chasing alpine descents, putting in long backcountry days, or just want more laps with less shuttle time, we’re here to power the ride.

OUR STORY
2018 - Starting as an university project, Jon Chan (Founder and acting CEO) saw the potential of making high-powered drive systems and what it could mean for the industry as a whole. So, he developed the X1 Pro Gen 1 and got some funding by winning a few fancy awards. With some experience behind him from starting GNG Electric (yup, some of you already know that name), he was off to a good start. Now, he needed a team. A passionate team.

This team is ever-growing and the result? The X1 Pro Gen 2 became one of the first ebike conversion kits equipped with torque sensing. This was great and all, but what else could we do? ISIS torque sensing, our own controllers, what about our own peripherals, smart display, or a system that's even smaller? 2/4 already achieved and it doesn't stop here... there's always more projects happening behind the scenes that you'll all see soon enough.
